Simple security guide

Set up an authenticator app

An authenticator app gives you a fresh six-digit security code when you sign in. Choose either Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator—you only need one.

Before you start

Open the TerminalERP setup page on a computer or tablet and keep your phone nearby. You will use the phone to scan the square QR code shown by TerminalERP.

Google Authenticator

Official Google instructions
  1. 1

Install and open Google Authenticator on your phone.

  2. 2

Tap Get started or the + button, then choose Scan a QR code.

  3. 3

Point your phone camera at the QR code on the TerminalERP setup page.

  4. 4

Enter the six-digit TerminalERP code from the app, then select Verify and show recovery codes.

Microsoft Authenticator

Official Microsoft instructions
  1. 1

Install and open Microsoft Authenticator on your phone.

  2. 2

Tap the + button and choose Other account. Do not choose Personal or Work/School for TerminalERP.

  3. 3

Point your phone camera at the QR code on the TerminalERP setup page.

  4. 4

Enter the six-digit TerminalERP code from the app, then select Verify and show recovery codes.

Save your recovery codes

After setup, TerminalERP will show recovery codes. Save them somewhere private and separate from your phone. Each recovery code can be used once if your phone is unavailable.

How to sign in later

  1. 1

Enter your TerminalERP email address and password.

  2. 2

Open your authenticator app and find TerminalERP.

  3. 3

Enter the current six-digit code before it changes. The app can generate this code even when your phone is offline.

Keep your account safe

Never send anyone your QR code, six-digit code, setup secret, or recovery codes. A TerminalERP administrator will never ask you to share them.

If a code is not accepted

  • Make sure you selected the TerminalERP entry in your app.
  • Wait for a new code and enter it promptly.
  • Turn on automatic date and time in your phone settings.
  • Use one of your saved recovery codes if your phone is unavailable.
  • Contact your TerminalERP administrator if you changed or lost your phone.
